Celebrating the 2023 Opensource.com Community Choice authors
On the 13th anniversary of Opensource.com, we are grateful to honor our community of authors.
by AmyJune Hineline
Often our first interaction with open source is through community knowledge bases.
This past year, I have had the fantastic opportunity to work with the many authors here at Opensource.com (and bring in some new ones!). I am fortunate enough to meet with our Correspondents program authors weekly and see some authors at in-person and virtual conferences. We are diverse in our knowledge, locations, backgrounds, and uniquely lived experiences. Continue reading on OpenSource.com.
Stephen’s Temp and Humidity Sensor
by Stephen Cross
As mentioned in this episode, I created enclosures for his project with items from around the house. For example, a small box is used for a temperature and humidity sensor with a .96-inch LCD. Maybe someday he’ll do some 3D printing.
Feel free to use this enclosure design, it’s open-source! :)
I have two sensors set up like this that I’ve been using for over a year. The next step for these sensors is to move them to battery power and clean it up by soldering them to a perfboard.
Below is another homemade enclosure. You can read more about this project on StephenCross.com and see the transition from breadboard to pill bottle enclosure to Trinkey.
