We all have professional disaster stories; do you care to share one?
I bulk updated 500,000 contacts in a mailing list for a client. Undocumented, the client had a trigger that if a certain field was updated it would trigger a welcome email. Well, I sent 500,000 welcome emails to existing customers. I thought I was going to get fired after the client yelled at me on a call.
What was your career before Drupal?
I was an tactical emergency dispatcher and radio technician for the Massachusetts Emergency Management Agency. I was the lead communications officer for the Boston Marathon from 2012 -> 2016 for emergency medical services (EMS). I was on the ground in metro Boston during the 2013 terrorist attack on the Boston Marathon. I also coincidently the radio dispatcher the night of the shelter in place order in Watertown, MA on overtime. I made a radio announcement over BAPERN, the Boston Area Police Emergency Radio Network, notifying all cities and town the Governor issued the shelter in place notice around 5am. That radio recording was used in the movie Patriot's Day with Mark Wahlberg.
