DDEV - Minutes add up
My development team has a mix of Mac and Linux computers for local development. We recently switched from Lando to DDEV. While we have had no issues with Lando, it’s performance on Macs drove the switch. Disk IO-heavy operations, such as rebuilding artifacts, would take less than a minute on Linux and 10 minutes on Mac. We've wanted to make the change for a while, and recently some time freed up in a sprint to get it done.
The combination of replacing Lando with DDEV, Docker Desktop with Colima, and using Mutagen had substantial performance gains on Mac. A no-cache `composer install` with Lando took 7 minutes, while it took 30 seconds with DDEV (Colima and Mutagen). Like money, consistently saving a few minutes over time adds up. Over a week, there could be an hour or more saved or 50 hours in a year per developer.
Us Linux users have been running very fast all along :)
Minifigure of the Week

71005-7
This week I would like to share 71005-7 Ned Flanders! This is the 7th minifigure from the Simpsons Series 1. Released in 2014 this was one of the first licensed CMF series. I love the mug from his leftorium!
