Project Browser is Alpha

“We are happy to release an alpha to the community so we can get feedback on the UI and have some folks start to kick the tires” — Chris Well.

Demo:

The Project Browser makes it easy for site builders to find modules. Once selected, instructions are provided on how to install the modules on your site. This browser lives inside the Drupal site itself, which means you don't need to leave your site in order to look for modules.

The UI is intended to be faster and easier to use, with enhanced filtering capabilities to provide a streamlined view of projects. This is a decoupled component that queries the Drupal.org API in real time to ensure that the content is easily accessible and up to date.

Our goal is to make it easier to find and install modules for people that are (1) new to Drupal and that are (2) site builders. Developers will also find this valuable since it provides them with the composer commands to get the modules.

New Module: Views User Term Filter

View User Term Filter allows a site builder to build a view whose results will be automatically filtered to a taxonomy term set in the visitor's profile.

For example, if a site categorizes content by region, that site can allow registered users to specify their own region in. their profile. This module provides an easy way to show each user content that has been tagged for the region they've specified in their profile.

For anonymous users, this filter will show all results.

It's also worth noting that this module doesn't (yet) perform any validation that the vocabulary targets for the two taxonomy terms reference field actually align (e.g. use a common vocabulary), which could mean that no results would ever show for the view.

If instead of filtering results you'd prefer to boost search results that align to a user's profile, check out Search API Solr Boost By User Term.
